Jesus Storybook Bible – Free Resources

As my ministry team created a year-long curriculum based on the Jesus Storybook Bible (read about the experience), there were 2 areas that needed a great deal of attention to fit our Sunday morning program. Those areas were memory verses (and tools to help kids learn these verses), and crafts/creative activities/object lessons that allowed kids to have a hands-on experience as they learned the Bible stories.

MEMORY VERSES (& MEMORY ACTIVITIES)

Go here for the list of memory verses I selected for the 44 stories in the Jesus Storybook Bible. From this memory verse list, you will find links to tons of resources I created to use with these memory verses. These resources include multiple word puzzles for each verse and full-page printable versions of the verses.

I would love to use some of your resources!

    • Thanks Jennifer, I am trying to get as many of my materials as possible posted this week, so check back soon!

Yes, I would love to see your resources as well, particularly for preschool age 2-3 yrs and 4-5yrs.

    • I am currently working on uploading all of my memory verse materials. While all the memory verses I selected are short enough for preschoolers, the word puzzles I created are designed for kids on a 1st grade level or higher. I did put together a pretty good collection of crafts and activities that go with the stories for every age group, so I will work to get those posted soon after I finish all the memory verse materials. I will reply on here again when I have more preschool materials posted. I will also be glad to email you. You can reach me at stephen@storiesbystephen.com if you want to send me your email address.

I am very interested in seeing your free resources for the Jesus Storybook Bible. I can’t seem to find them on your site, though. All my clicking on links seems to be taking me circles. Can you please point me in the right direction? tina@thefondrens.com

    • I am working hard to get all the materials posted on here. Sorry I have not had time to get them posted more quickly. I will be glad to email you when I have everything uploaded if you would like.

  • PCK

Am very interested in the coloring pages you used for the preschoolers. Would love to implement this for take-home pages.

    • I did use coloring pages for every single story, but I did not create them myself. While I have copies of all of them, I cannot post them directly to my site due to copyright laws. However, I can put together a post that links to other webpages and coloring page books that I used in order to build my collection. For certain stories, it can be quite a task just to find decent coloring pages, while other popular stories like Noah’s ark will pull up dozens of good coloring pages with a quick Google search. I will be glad to email you once I get that post put together with links to all my coloring page resources.

      • PCK

Thanks so much!!! That would be quite helpful if you can post the links of where you got the images from. I can certainly understand that finding these images can be very time consuming.

      • Pnina Lizorkin

Hello, can you post here the links to whatever you found, or can you email them to me?
Thanks so much for doing this.

Hey Stephen thanks for doing all the hard work! this is amazing, would I be able to get the links as well? Please send me the links or docs. I am teaching Chinese children here in the USA by reading them the Jesus Storybook Bible.
They like the coloring pages that are good for adults or much older children (tiny blocks). Yea, it takes like a day to do one. But they love this style.
The back story — I use the JSB to help Chinese adults learn to speak by reading the book aloud (and thankfully they are learning the Bible too). They love it so much that the Chinese adults asked me to read this Bible to their children too. So suddenly I have an adult class of 15+ and another class of 10+ children now (at a different time).
I will check out your links. If you have any other suggestions for materials, I am all ears. Basically the JSB is at an excellent level for the adults learning English.

Can I get the links also please ?jeg@ellijay.com

    • Jenny Parry

Can I please get the links too? I want to use it to teach children at the home church I attend. We are missionaries in West Africa.

Hey Stephen, I’d like to see your schedule broken down by the minute. Did you happen to already post your collection of crafts and activities that go with the stories?

Thank you for putting your hard work out there for other Children’s Ministries to use! We have over 300 kids (birth to 5th grade) and also have a tight budget! We know it’s a lot of work, because we’ve done it before, so you’re very generous to share with us!

  • Jackie

Any idea on when your list of crafts/activities will be uploaded? We are planting a church in New Orleans in a couple weeks and I would love to use the Jesus Storybook Bible as our main curriculum in the preschool area. Thanks!!

Where do you have the other resources for the curriculum posted? I see the memory verse links, but not links to the coloring or crafts.

  • Sandy

Stumbled across your site as I was looking for coloring pages for our 2-3’s class. Great idea….I would love to know if you have any links that you found helpful for that range. We are now in our second year of using this curriculum and are working on translating all the teacher resources into Spanish (our church is blessed to have some bi-lingual families and a Spanish ministry as well!). My email is s_tatum7@yahoo.com. Blessings!!

Hello Stephen. Simply having the list of memory verses summarized like this is very useful. Did you ever make the rest of your resources available.

  • Rachel Sprinkle

Hi Stephen!! I’m sold! Would you please share your other resources with me? I would love to be able to use the arts and crafts guide you created for each week, any games, and large group teaching ideas. Anything at all. Thank you so much! Our church has no budget for curriculum and I’m struggling to pull something cohesive and comprehensive together for all ages without buying a curriculum. This is very inspiring. Thank you. srsprinkle@gmail.com

Hey Stephen, I would love to check out any other resources you’ve put together for your curriculum as well! I was thinking about doing the same with the JSB, but if you’ve done that already, that would be incredibly helpful. Michaelcjohnson1227@gmail.com

Hey! I am wanting to use JSB as a main resource for the Bible curriculum at my preschool. I live in South Africa and it is difficult getting physical resources, so I rely heavily on internet, printable resources. Please can you email me any other resources you have available? Thanks so much!

Hi Stephen. Just stumbled across your site. I am responsible for the curriculum for the 3-7-year-olds in our church here in Norway, however, resources that suit our group are hard to come by, so we have had to go the hard way – the time-consuming task of designing our own. For the past semester I have used JSB as a source of inspiration for the old-testament stories. It is the best children´s Bible I have come by, I am considering basing the curriculum upon it but very interested whatever resources you may be able to send, as a Bible story alone is not really enough to keep a group of 40+ small children entertained. Thank you very much in advance!! Heidi – heidi@knoblauch.no

Hey Stephen, would love to access the rest of these resources. We have used JSB for our kids in our Sunday AM worship gathering for over 18 months. And your materials have been a great supplement to the curriculum. You can email me at jnj29@att.net thanks!

  • Katie-Lee Harrison

Hi! I found your website about a year ago and have come back to it several times. We are trying to figure out a curriculum for our small group of kids with a variety of ages. We already have the JSB curriculum and several copies of the JSB but as you realized, the lessons are a bit limited and geared for a very small window of ages. I would love it if you would you send me any materials you have available for the JSB curriculum? do you sell your curriculum? or accept donations? My email is katielee.harrison@gmail.com thank you so much!

  • Stephanie Sampson

I would love to see the curriculum plans for the Jesus Storybook Bible that you have prepared. I would appreciate if you could email it to me at stephlsampson@gmail.com. Thanks!
